Summer is a great time to get kids started on chores! You all have time and patience. You don't have big dinners or the school routine to stick to. It's a perfect time to teach a new life skill 👌

The more hands on deck at home... the faster everyone gets out to have fun!

These come out perfect every time! Full recipe below:
Makes 10-12 scones

Preheat oven 200c
Grease baking tray

Sieve 225g SR'flour &
1 heaped teaspoon baking powder into bowl
40g caster sugar - stir in.
40g cold butter - rub in till fine.
Beat 1 lg egg w/ 100-120mls Buttermilk (remember to shake container of milk first to reconstitute).
Pour in 80% and stir with fork.
Use judgement for the rest - it should be dry.

Put out on floured surface.
Light kneed.
Flatten to 1 inch thick
Cut with med. Cookie cutter.
Egg wash & bake 200c for 12-15 mins on middle shelf.

Watch towards end & cover with tinfoil if burning.

Let cool on wire rack.

Serve with butter, jam & Whipped cream
