The Justice Department has issued a new legal opinion stating that federal disability law does not require states to provide community-based services simply because a person with a disability could live outside an institution.

The opinion rejects a long-standing interpretation of the Americans with Disabilities Act that has been used for decades to support home- and community-based care for people with mental, physical, and intellectual disabilities.

The change could make it easier for states to rely on nursing homes, psychiatric facilities, and other institutional settings rather than expanding services that allow people to live independently in their communities.

The fact is that what we are watching is a slow rolling coup. From Roe (reproductive rights)... Oberfell (Gay marriage); and the 14th Amendment (Birthright citizenship); and the 1st amendment (freedom of speech/the press) our democracy is in jeopardy.

Established law or not - the Trump administration is gutting law after law in preparation for martial law, mass incarceration of political and other prisoners (100k additional spaces being added by DHS / ICE - Trumps SS), and eventually a Constitutional convention to do away with Democracy and equality.

They aren't hiding it - but far too many refuse to see it or push back. We are not angry enough.
