Today Ambassador Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid joined the family, friends, and loved ones of Trevor Dietz to celebrate his life.

The funeral itself was a demonstration of love and support to the Palestinian people and in particular our people in Gaza. Yamm Mwel Al Hawa, a traditional Palestinian folk song was sang.

Trevor was a friend of the Palestinian people in our struggle for freedom and justice. Our heartfelt condolences to the family and all his beloved ones.

James Joyce and his famous novel Ulysses were brought to life yesterday in Belvedere College.

Ambassador Jilan Wahba Abdaljamid was delighted to attend and celebrate Bloomsday, named after Joyce’s character Leopold Bloom, and see the story brought to life with wonderful performances from actors, singers, and The Ramparts Choir.

We would like to thank The James Joyce Centre for the opportunity to celebrate this great Irish author in the beautiful and historic Belvedere College, where James Joyce was educated.

While every day there are killings, there are still marriages and celebrations in Palestine.

Life continues in Palestine and expressing our culture through celebration gives us life.

An honour to be invited by the Dublin North Bay Heritage Summer School Festival 2026 to discuss Palestine and our rich heritage and culture.

Best wishes to the team on their fantastic programme of events this weekend.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Welcomes New Sanctions by UK, Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, Ireland and Norway Against Entities and Individuals Involved in Settler Violence

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed the decision by the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, Ireland and Norway to impose a new package of sanctions on a number of entities and individuals involved in financing, supporting, and carrying out attacks by Israeli settlers against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank, particularly amid the alarming escalation of settler violence and organized crimes throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem.

The Ministry described the sanctions as an important step in the right direction, consistent with the principles, values, and legal obligations that these countries have endorsed through international agreements. It stressed that international law is not merely a political statement but a binding commitment that must be respected and enforced. The sanctions reflect the reality that colonial settlement activity in all its forms is illegal under international law and constitutes a direct threat to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, as well as to regional peace and stability.

The Ministry further emphasized that the daily attacks faced by Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, targeting lives, property, land, and holy sites, are part of an official Israeli policy based on settlement expansion, forced displacement, and the appropriation of Palestinian land. The Ministry also welcomed international positions reaffirming the illegality of Israeli settlements and warnings issued to companies, institutions, and individuals against engaging in economic or financial activities with or within settlements established in the occupied Palestinian territory. It called on the international community to build on these measures by imposing further deterrent sanctions on the settlement enterprise as a whole, reaffirming the responsibility of the Israeli government for settler crimes, preventing trade in products originating from illegal settlements in global markets, implementing the principle of universal jurisdiction, and taking practical steps to protect the Palestinian people and ensure the implementation of international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice, with the aim of ending the occupation and realizing an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Doolin, Co. Clare is such a beautiful town in the West of Ireland.

Ambassador Dr Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid was honoured to be invited to speak at Hotel Doolin for the North Clare branch of Labour.

Truly heartwarming to see so much support for the Palestinian people in Co. Clare

It was great also to have the opportunity to meet the children of Lisdoonvarna and Kilshanny National Schools.

There were many interesting questions about Palestine including questions about the culture, nature, popular foods, and cultural traditions of Palestine, as well as the ambassadorial work in Ireland and the representation of the State of Palestine.

A number of TU Dublin / OT Baile Átha Cliath students chose Palestine to base their graduate projects on.

An honour to meet these students and experience their work at the GradX exhibition on the Grangegorman campus.

It is heartwarming to see how these young Irish students keep Palestine and the injustice our people face, to the fore front of their minds. Their action and sense of humanity gives us great hope for the future.

From feeding Dublin's homeless every Friday night to consistently standing up for Palestine's just cause, the Muslim Sisters of Éire are truly inspiring.

An honour to finally meet this group of women in person and learn about the vast work they do enriching communities across Ireland.

Ireland's upcoming EU Presidency offers an opportunity to confront the EU's widening gap between its actions and its values.

This was the message of today's meeting chaired by Senator Frances Black

Senator Black never stops in her pursuit of justice for the Palestinian people.

Truly heartening to see reps from all political parties attend today's meeting.
