🇲🇹Promoting Malta as a food lover's destination🍽️

On Thursday 11 June, the Ambassador and Deputy Head of Mission visited the Visit Malta stand at this year's Taste of Dublin food festival. Visitors to the stand can savour some Kinnie and Twistees - one of Malta's iconic snack combinations - while learning more about Malta's gastronomy and food culture. The Deputy Head of Mission also met members of the Irish travel media and tour operators the evening before.

Taste of Dublin is open until Sunday 14 June at Merrion Square, Dublin.

🇮🇪🇪🇺Irish EU Presidency Launch & Presentation of Priorities

Ireland will be holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union as of 1 July 2026 until 31 December 2026. 🎞Have you heard? Malta-produced feature film Ciao Ciao, directed by Keith Tedesco, is now officially streaming on Amazon Prime Video even in Ireland!

🎬Ciao Ciao is a dark comedy-drama that follows two reacquainted couples during what begins as a friendly dinner reunion before spiralling into an unforgettable night of tension, chaos, and uncomfortable revelations.

🎥The film is produced by Lampa Stampa and Roughcut Films and stars some of Malta's established actors both on the stage and in film as well as emerging talents.

Ambassador Formosa attended the EU Heads of Mission meeting hosted by the Embassy of Portugal, yesterday at Europe House.

During this meeting, the Ambassadors had an interesting discussion with guest speaker Mr Patrick Hines from the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation.

🏳️‍🌈The Embassy of Malta in Ireland commemorated the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia ( ) this year, hoisting the Rainbow Flag and participating in a special event organised by the Cyprus in Ireland, at Europe House Dublin, under the theme “An Autonomous Union of Values that Leaves No One Behind.”

"At the Heart of Democracy", the theme for , highlights that inclusive, rights-respecting societies - where LGBTQI+ people can live freely and equally - are essential to genuine democracy.

Ambassador Formosa held an official visit to Cork where she met the Cork City Council Lord Mayor Councillor Fergal Dennehy, the President of the University College Cork Professor John O'Halloran, as well as Maggie Cusack President of Munster Technological University and Professor Alistair Payne Dean of Faculty, MTU Cork School of Music and respective colleagues. The Ambassador also met Cork Chamber of Commerce International Manager Grace Kelleher.

The Ambassador was accompanied by the Deputy Head of Mission Mariel Sacco and the Honorary Consul John Minihan.
