On their way to , our Spring ‘26 Dublin Domers hiked the Máméan pilgrim path. Their journey concluded at a small altar dedicated to St. Patrick, who concluded his ministry in the West of Ireland here before he returned to Ulster.

This site served as an important Mass Rock during the time of the Penal Laws, where Catholics would meet for the celebration of Mass in secret.

The students concluded their hike just before a snow storm descended on Connemara, a rare sight in Ireland!

Over the last year, we worked with director Ruán Magan and our friends at and to bring this landmark documentary on the legacy of Daniel O’Connell to life, 250 years on.

As stewards of The Liberator’s former home on Merrion Square, this project is particularly close to our hearts. To the over 4,000 students who have graced the halls of O’Connell House, this one’s for you!

Further screenings, educational events, and discussions are planned in Ireland, Europe, and the United States throughout 2026 as a part of the University of Notre Dame’s .global Global Network.
