As April is Autism Awareness month we'd like to remind you of Dublin City Libraries Sensory Collection: assistive software and sensory toy catalogue

One of the key goals of this collection is to make sensory toys and assistive software more accessible. We understand that this kind of equipment can be expensive. Families can now try out toys and assistive software for free through their local library.

We're proud to introduce our assistive software and sensory toy catalogue.

All items on the Sensory catalogue must be reserved online or ordered in your local library as items are stored off-site in a dedicated locale.

Items are available to reserve from any of our library branches. This exciting collection is designed to support children and adults with additional needs by providing access to a wide range of sensory toys and assistive tools.

This collection offers equipment that aids in developing gross motor skills, fine motor skills, communication, and visual perception.

This is part of a range of library measures supporting the broader Dublin City Council plan to make Dublin an autism-friendly city.

We feel very lucky here at Dolphin's Barn Library to have one of former DCC council staff member Kieran Collin's fabulous murals. His Winnie the Pooh scene/artwork adds so much to our junior library and has enhanced many events and workshops over the years. Míle buíochas Kieran.
