The wait is over ✨ The 2026 Dublin Literary Award Shortlist has been revealed!
Selected from nominations submitted by libraries around the world, this year’s shortlist celebrates six remarkable works of fiction, including four novels in translation.
Reflecting on this year’s selection, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, said:
“The 2026 shortlist for the Dublin Literary Award stands as a celebration of the finest qualities of literature at its most international, most ambitious and most humane.”
“With four of the shortlisted works in translation, it speaks to the Award’s enduring belief that great writing belongs not to one nation or one language, but to the world.”

✨ Gliff – Ali Smith
✨ In Late Summer – Magdalena Blažević (translated by Anđelka Raguž)
✨ Live Fast – Brigitte Giraud (translated by Cory Stockwell)
✨ Perspectives – Laurent Binet (translated by Sam Taylor)
✨ The Emperor of Gladness – Ocean Vuong
✨ What I Know About You – Éric Chacour (translated by Pablo Strauss)
