The Coast Guard is pleased to support the Be Summer Ready campaign and wishes everybody a safe and enjoyable summer especially when engaged in any coastal or water based activities. Check out the Be Summer Ready website at https://buff.ly/3Mf7eP5, which provides good advice about water safety.

If you see somebody in trouble on the water or along the coast, or think they are in trouble, dial 999 or 112 or use VHF radio CH 16 and ask for the Coast Guard.

Yesterday the Coast Guard held the 2nd Search & Rescue Co-Operation Planning Stakeholder Forum. The forum had representatives from the Coast Guard, internationally trading Ferry Companies as well as a number of Irish Ports. The group is established to provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure that Ireland has an efficient, resilient, and fit-for-purpose regime in respect to SOLAS Regulations, IMO Circular 1079, and Irish Marine Notice 18 of 2011. This forum is one of several key outputs from an IRCG Project Team established in May 2020. The forum is chaired by the Coast Guard.
