8 years on from the day Ireland voted for Repeal and we still remember the buzz and the excitement, and the relief. It was a long and hard fought campaign against intimidation, misinformation, and funding from the US, and it wasn’t the end of the fight.

We are so proud of the Green Party for taking part in that fight, and not stopping there. We are proud of the party for prioritising free access to contraception for women and delivering safe access zones on the southern and northern sides of the border with , and for voting in support of legislation to amend the reproductive rights bill further.

Today we celebrate 8 years of Repeal, and prepare for what comes next.

Funny how much can change in just one month? The Socdems have completely changed their tune on the Critical Infrastructure Bill and the damaging impact it will have on our climate. Here are some of them speaking out against this bill last month, before voting it through today. This bill will allow Jack Chambers to bypass the Climate Act whenever he wants, and shows a serious lack of support to our climate and our environment.

Hate does not speak for us ♥️

We would like to extend our solidarity with Senator Eileen Flynn, who has recently been the target of a harassment campaign by far-right online abusers. Flynn, who made history as Ireland's first parliamentarian from a Traveller background, had pointed out the presence of known far-right activists at recent fuel protests.

These online abusers do not speak for us, and rely on sockpuppet accounts based in America to boost their hate campaigns. We extend our support and solidarity with Senator Flynn and the just and equitable Ireland she stands for ✊

‼️With the government throwing Ireland's climate obligations under the bus, there has never been a more important time to say the energy crisis is the climate crisis ‼️

Green leader Roderic O'Gorman is calling on the Dáil to support his Earth Day motion to safeguard the climate, restore nature, and protect households from fuel shocks.

We'll be joining forces on Wednesday 22nd April at 5:30pm outside Leinster House to demand action. Will you join us?

If you cannot make it, please Sign the petition at the link in our bio and share the message ♻️

Taoiseach has unfortunately accepted an invitation from Donald Trump to visit The White House for St. Patrick’s Day. We think this is a mistake and have laid out 13 reasons why he should decline this invitation. We could probably go up to 100 reasons so let us know what we missed!

We are sickened by the reports yesterday in The Guardian that a private jet owned by one of Donald Trump’s friends was not only used to deport Palestinians back to the occupied West Bank but that this jet was allowed to fuel in Shannon Airport.

Sending people back to live under Israeli apartheid is disgusting and the people of Ireland want no part in it. Sending them in shackles is dehumanising.

Minister for Transport and Minister for Foreign Affairs need to act to make sure this is not repeated.

Irish airports being used by the American military and ICE makes a mockery of our military neutrality.

We would like to congratulate Hazel Chu on her election as Deputy Leader of the Green Party. We can’t wait to see what you achieve in the role and look forward to working with you. To Marianne, well done on running a great campaign, and our co-chair Adam still looks forward to working with you in Louth.

Óige Ghlas wish to condemn comments made by Minister for Culture, Communications and Sports Patrick O’Donovan today on where the blame should fall for the non-consensual sexual images of women and children being created and Spread on Elon Musk’s platform, X.

To state that X does not bear responsibility ignores the fact that the AI chatbot Grok, was developed by X without adequate safeguards, and that the company have continuously allowed these images to be shared on the platform without any moderation.

Óige Ghlas firmly believes that the fault lies at both X, for building this AI tool with no safeguards, and allowing it to be shared online, as well as the users who have gone out of their way to generate this explicit material.

We want to express solidarity with the victims of this AI tool, no one should have images of themselves edited and shared without consent. It is against the law. We’re falling for Coimisúin na Meán .ie to take immediate action against X, who’s are headquartered in Dublin.
