We can’t allow horrific and tragic incidents to continue to be used as an excuse by the far right and bad actors to cause violence and destruction in our cities, we’ve seen it in Dublin, we’ve seen it in Liverpool, and we’ve seen it across the past three years in Belfast.
Communities shouldn’t have to live in fear of violence because of events or attacks that have nothing to do with them.
We’re thinking today of those in Belfast who don’t feel safe to go outside right now, who are worried their house might be the target of the next arson attack, and who are facing racist abuse.
We echo the calls by _ie and that this must be the last summer of racist pogroms in Belfast.
