REMINDER............
A Plenary Meeting which is a meeting of nominated
representatives from all groups registered. This will take place on
Tuesday 21st October at 7.30 in the Louis Fitzgerald. At this meeting
those present will elect a secretariat made up of equal numbers from
the three pillars. This secretariat will them become in effect the
management group of the PPN. They will establish linkage groups and
invite representatives for the various Strategic Policy Committees,
JPC’s, LCDC etc.

Existing members/organisations of the forum if they wish to be put
themselves forward for SPC’s etc. They must register with the PPN.
The existing Forum will not have a role in the selection of
representatives. The P.P.N data base will develop by groups applying

Each will have to identify which of the 3 sections community social

to enable them to develop their respective groups and also the
secretariat Any group can join the P.P.N they do not have to come
through the presently established organisations

Those new groups will elect reps to the various positions

As part of South Dublin County Council’s Health & Wellbeing Week from Sept. 29th to Oct 5th SDCSP is organising a Mental Health Awareness seminar aimed at club coaches, committee members, leaders and parents in the South Dublin area. Mental Health has been recognised as an area of great concern in Ireland and sports bodies, through education and training to assist coaches in their community clubs to create an accepting environment where young men and women can feel comfortable to talk, have become very important vehicles to get the conversation started and rid Ireland of the stigma of mental ill health.

Hi All AS YOU MAY BE AWARE A NEW FRAMEWORK FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AND ENGAGEMENT, THE PPN, IS CURRENTLY BEING SET UP IN ALL LOCAL AUTHORITY AREAS.
THE PPN WILL BUILD ON EXISTING STRUCTURES AND WILL PROVIDE NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS TO TAKE A FORMAL ACTIVE ROLE IN THE RELEVANT POLICY MAKING AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL, INCLUDING THE NEW LOCAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE (LCDC). REGISTERING WITH PPN WILL BE THE ONLY WAY FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS IN THE COUNTY TO NOMINATE MEMBERS TO THESE COMMITTEES. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR REGISTERING WITH THE PPN.
