Today May 20th is World Bee Day. Designated by the United Nations in 2017, World Bee Day recognizes the urgent need to protect bees and other pollinators in support of innovative, coordinated, and environmentally sound sustainable development. On the island of Ireland, insects pollinate more than three quarters of our wild plants, providing food and shelter for birds and mammals and contributing to healthy ecosystems.
