I raised with the minister for Education the problems with the ‘July provision’ for children with additional needs. Many parents and staff didn’t have sufficient time to apply. Also, the system isn’t serving the real needs of young people and parents.

The portal to apply has since been reopened.

Help leaflet for our upcoming meeting to . This outrageous proposal to play a team steeped in genocide, racism and violence cannot stand. Right now, Israel continues to murder and maim in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Iran. The Irish government says it stands with Palestine and supports the ICJ case for genocide — yet it’s encouraging these football games between Ireland and Israel. Russia has been rightly banned from football for its invasion of Ukraine - but Israel is allowed operate with impunity.

It’s up to us to stop the games. Active people power is needed. Please get involved! Contact us to help. Raise this in your sports club or workplace. Come to the meeting on 9 June in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown Centre.

Residents in Dublin West and Cork are refusing to sacrifice their peace and security for the profits of a commercial drone company. Fingal council recently refused retention of the operation of Manna Drones and Cork City Council, where it operated from a hub without permission, has sent an enforcement letter to the company. .brianmccarthy passed a unanimous motion for a review of drones’ impact on the environment but we need to fully outlaw commercial drones in residential areas.

I raised the loss of a teacher in St Francis junior school in Priorswood - a massively disadvantaged area and a DEIS PLUS school in Dublin 17. This is the full video exchange. Parents and staff need to pile the pressure on government over this.

The Deis Plus programme is supposed to provide disadvantaged schools with additional support, yet Saint Francis Junior School in Priorswood is losing a teacher because their roll book went up by 1 student. This will lead to 3 classes amalgamating into 2 — something they were also forced to do last year when they lost a teacher. The government must intervene. Schools like Saint Francis are now losing resources instead of gaining them because of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael’s refusal to properly fund education, as well as public and affordable housing — decisions that are forcing many teachers out of the country and leaving the most vulnerable students in need.

While public transport is urgently needed, particularly outside of Dublin, the proposal for the Navan Rail Line will split and damage one of the largest nature reserves and rewilding projects in Ireland. The proposed route will impact habitats (Dunsany homes the majority of our bat population for example), the Slane and Boyle rivers and much more in the context of a deepening climate crisis. The government should be accountable to the people but more and more they are ramming things through that in reality are unpopular and unwanted.

Hundreds attended a meeting to reject a proposed footbridge being erected from Bramblefield estate in Littlepace, Dublin 15, over the N3 to an industrial area. I raised this in the Dail on a discussion on the Dublin Transport Authority and the lack of accountability, with decision making being taken from councillors. It seems government will do anything but fund necessary infrastructure for communities.
