We work across Dublin, the Midwest and the North East. Each region has its own needs, challenges and strengths, so our teams adapt their approach to fit.

That can mean supporting people affected by drug use, homelessness, domestic violence or a combination of complex circumstances.

What stays the same is our aim: make support easier to reach, improve safety and help people move towards greater stability.

Our services are free to the people who use them. If you are in a position to support our work, your contribution helps us continue providing harm reduction, outreach, medical support and low‑threshold services across our regions.

Every donation strengthens the work, and the people who rely on it.

People with lived experience and people from the wider community play a vital role in our work. Their insight helps us connect with people in a more honest, grounded way.

We are grateful to everyone who gives their time, skills and experience to support others.

Every day, Ana Liffey supports people across Ireland who may be experiencing harmful or dependent drug use, homelessness, domestic violence or other complex challenges. Behind every call, referral, outreach intervention or care plan is a person who was able to access compassion, practical support and a safer way forward.

Our frontline teams continue to work with individuals, families, hospitals, community partners and emergency services to make sure people can get help when they need it most.

Case Management at Ana Liffey is often misunderstood as simply linking people to services. In reality, it is a structured, evidence‑based approach grounded in the National Drug Rehabilitation Framework, where key workers and service users work together to build a shared care plan that reflects the person’s goals, pace and circumstances.

A key worker becomes a consistent, reliable point of contact, someone who helps coordinate supports, advocates across systems, and stays with the person as their needs change. This might involve healthcare, housing, treatment pathways, legal or social supports, or removing practical barriers that make progress harder.

Case Management is not about pushing people through a process. It’s about creating stability, reducing overwhelm and making sure no one has to navigate complex systems alone.

Across Dublin, the Midwest and the North East, we work closely with local services, hostels, clinics, community groups and outreach partners. These relationships help us respond quickly to local issues, reach people earlier and tailor support to each area’s needs.

By working together, we can support people facing a wide range of challenges, including drug use, homelessness and domestic violence, often at the same time.

Strong partnerships make effective, person-centred support possible, and we value every organisation that works alongside us.

Our new Freephone service, 1800 78 68 28, can be a first step for people who aren’t sure where to begin. A call gives someone space to talk openly, ask questions and explore options without pressure.

Staff listen, offer safety guidance and help callers understand what supports might fit their situation, whether that is harm reduction, case management, medical support, outreach or help with wider challenges affecting their safety and stability.

Calls are handled respectfully, without judgement, and confidentiality is taken seriously.

Not everyone can, or feels ready to, walk through the door of a service. That is why Ana Liffey’s outreach teams bring support to people in the places where they already feel comfortable.

Outreach workers provide safety information, needle and syringe access, advocacy, referrals, brief interventions, and regular check‑ins. For many people, this becomes their first steady connection with support.
