A pleasure to attend and be part of the Anzac commemoration in wonderful Lorrha, Co. Tipperary 🇮🇪

Deputy Head of Mission, James Hazell enjoyed a full day in the parish of 📍Lorrha and Dorrha. James paid respects to Lieutenant Col. Thomas Bernard Hackett VC who is buried at Lockeen cemetary before visiting the ancestral home of former Governor General of Australia, Sir William Deane.

Thank you to the Martin O’Meara VC Committee for the wonderful hospitality, for putting on the Anzac commemoration service and the community of Lorrha for the warm welcome to your beautiful village ☘️

What better way to explore the beauty and history of Kells, Co. Meath, then with a fascinating walking tour and visit to St Colmcille’s House and the Spire of Lloyd in the company of Cathaoirleach Councillor Wayne Harding and Councillor Sean Drew.

Thank you for hosting me on a warm and memorable visit to your wonderful county 💚💛

For those of us either living overseas or with family on the other side of the world, we know that life can change in a heartbeat. Whether it’s an unexpected family milestone or a sudden challenge, the last thing you want is an expired passport stopping you from travelling when it matters.

Did you know that many countries and airlines require at least 6 months of validity on your passport to let you board? If yours is close to expiring, now is the time to act.

Check the expiry date of your passport today. If it expires within the next 6 months, put renewing your passport at the top of your to-do list.

Having an up-to-date passport means you’re ready to travel at a moment’s notice.

And don’t forget, you need to allow at least 6 weeks to get a new passport from the time you lodge your application. If you need a passport sooner, call us on 131 232 or contact your local embassy or consulate to discuss your options.

Two countries, four brave young Irish Women, and a shared history told across generations. 🇦🇺 🇮🇪📖 celebrating Literary & Diplomatic Ties at the Australian Embassy 📚✨

We recently gathered at the Australian Embassy Dublin to celebrate the release of the Irish translation of Evelyn Conlon’s award-winning novel Not the Same Sky, titled Ní hIonann Spéir.

First launched at the New South Wales (NSW) Houses of Parliament in 2013, this powerful story explores the enduring historical ties between 🇦🇺 and 🇮🇪

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this cross-cultural translation possible:

📖 Author Evelyn Conlon
🗣️ publisher Fionnuala Mac Aodha
☘️ Irish Translator Máire Nic Mhaoláin
🎶 Special thanks to musicians Fintan Vallely, Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill and Liam O'Maonlai for bringing the evening to life.
