Young Goethe Ambassadors are student role models who promote the benefits of learning German to young people and encourage younger students to learn and choose German as an option for their Junior Certificate, Leaving Certificate and beyond.

Teaching German in Primary School: 6-10 July and 13-17 July 2026 @ Goethe-Institut Irland

This course will provide teachers with an opportunity to reflect on their own classroom experiences while gaining practical insight into German language teaching theory, methods, and approaches. By the end of the week, participants will feel confident and well-equipped to deliver German classes at 5th and 6th class level, leaving with a corpus of topics and tasks they have developed themselves and can immediately apply in their own schools.

Come along to our kids' club and explore German in a fun, creative way, starting 6 June, 12.30-1.30 pm at Goethe-Institut Irland!

In June, we'll start with an interactive story that will be acted out rather than just read aloud. We'll learn a song and play a movement game. Depending on age and ability, there will be various other smaller activities on offer. So, join our club!

Are you an Irish teacher of German looking to upskill your language and teaching abilities? Then our summer school for German teachers is just what you're looking for!

This three-day intensive course will run 22 - 24 June 2026 at Goethe-Institut Irland, 10 am to 5 pm (with an hour break) and costs €75. The course will focus on how to introduce grammar playfully and support the spoken language in the classroom, AI in the German-language classroom, as well as the usage of selected online-tools for teaching, and presentations by Goethe-Institut Irland and Post-Primary Languages Ireland.
