Firefighters in Tipperary are being issued with new fire kits and PPE.

Tipperary Fire & Rescue Service says the new fire fighting suits are a distinctive gold colour, which were chosen following a lengthy tendering, selection and practical assessment process by the council.

Thermal runaway fires cannot be extinguished by conventional means.
In a lithium-ion battery the electrolyte usually contains hydrocarbon solvents which fuels the fire. If unchecked extremely high temperatures of over 1,000°C+ can be produced.

We have a vacancy for a Trainee Service & Support Technician operating from our Turvey offices and the ability to travel throughout Ireland and support our Service Engineer

Essential Job Functions

Willingness to learn with a good mechanical knowledge.
Ability to learn and maintain Small Engines and Hydraulics which will eventually work up to visiting client sites for maintenance, mechanical repair, installation, or replacement of company products.
On site / remote support for users
Customer Breakdown support for our products
Possibility of travel to customer at short notice
Workshop repairs and Stores operations.
Maintaining records of visits to client sites including contractors, noting issue, resolution, and time spent. Reporting trends in issues or customer suggestions to management
Scheduling and managing contractor support calls
Documenting steps used during training for reference and improvement
Answering client support questions and escalating more complex questions

Other Skills/Abilities

As this position involves interaction with our customers at all levels of management, well developed social skills are a requirement.
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, but also exhibit flexibility
