The inaugural meeting of the Liffey Valley Area committe which is focused on promoting the Special Amenty Area order for the Liffey Valley region was held in January 2025. The committee is composed of Cllrs from both SDCC and Fingal County Council. The meeting was held at Shakleton Mills in Lucan. The meeting focused on terms of reference and how the committee would function and the possibility of other public representatives and stakeholders being invited. Presentations from both the Biodiversity officer and Parks superintendent from Fingal CoCo were made. The next meeting is proposed to be September 2025. Please contact your local Cllrs and ask for more regular meetings for this committee.

Kildare County Council have started a public consultation on forming a connected park from Celbridge to Leixlip along the Liffey Valley Park Alliance This is really exciting news and links into connecting the parks along the Liffey valley.
