On the occasion of 60 years of an Austrian Embassy in Ireland, members of the Irish Austrian Society (celebrating 65 years) and guests from Upper Austria came together to celebrate Austrian‑Irish friendship. The Austrian musical groups Musibriada and Notfallbuam created a great atmosphere with their lively folk music, while harpists Rachael Dooley and Muireann Ní Mhaoildeirg captured the audience with the richness of Irish music and magical harps sounds.✨
An evening of music, friendship, and new connections – and a wonderful reflection of the vibrant ties between Austria and Ireland.

Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting the 29th Award Ceremony of the IAS German Essay Competition 2026 at the Austrian Residence. We hope to inspire the students to continue developing their German language skills for their future, while also motivating the teachers to carry on their valuable work.

May 1st marks an important day in Austria both State Holiday and Labour Day.

Originally rooted in the international workers’ movement, this day honors the achievements, rights, and contributions of workers across all industries. In Austria, it’s also a moment of national pride, often celebrated with parades, political events, and time spent with family and friends.

It’s a reminder of how far labor rights have come — and how important it is to continue advocating for fair working conditions, equality, and solidarity.
