Biodiversity Week Phoenix Park 2026

Spring has well and truly sprung, Summer is almost upon us and Biodiversity Week is in full swing here in Phoenix Park !

The birds are busy building their nests and there is a great buzz in the air !

Why not immerse yourselves in what mother nature has to offer by taking part in one of our many events, from Bees to trees there is something for all the family !

National Bike Week 2026 - Get on your Bike for the Sunset Cycle Phoenix Park Wed 13th May

Bike Week 2026 runs from Saturday 9th – Sunday 17th May 2026. It’s easy, fun and there’s something for everyone.

The purpose of Bike Week is to encourage new, occasional, and seasoned cyclists to make cycling part of their lifestyle.

As part of Bike Week, a Sunset Cycle will take place in the Phoenix Park, beginning at the Phoenix Monument from 7.30pm, Wed 13th May. Participants will enjoy a leisurely car free cycle around the historic avenues of the park with music provided by a Bike DJ

Bloom diversions, Ashtown Demesne May 2026

Bord Bia Bloom the annual festival of Flowers, Food and family fun takes place on the grounds of the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre over the June Bank Holiday weekend (May 28th - June 1st)

In order to facilitate ongoing construction works in preparation for Bloom, the car park at the visitor centre will have reduced capacity going forward and once full, cars will be diverted via Odd Lamp Road, to a temporary car park just off North Road (see map) The diversions will be introduced from Wednesday 13th May.

The Phoenix Park café located at the visitor centre will remain open as normal.

Pedestrian access will be permitted and alternative access routes to the playground are currently in place. Please follow relevant directional signs

In advance of Bloom the terminus of the DublinBusNews No 99 bus will also be temporarily relocated to Chesterfield avenue (Junction of Furze Road) from Monday 25th May for a period of two weeks.

Irish National War Memorial Gardens, a hidden landscape of remembrance in Dublin 8 !

The National Historic Properties Division of is delighted to offer guided tours of the Irish National War Memorial Gardens coinciding with the Festival this May.

Tours take place Friday 8th - Sat 9th May with the meeting point at the Temple, a short walk from Trinity College Boat Club.

The Tours feature the Sir Edwin Lutyens designed gardens comprised of a central lawn, flanked by pairs of granite pavilions, with the War Stone at its centre. The pavilions, which could be described as the smallest museums in Ireland, contain the Harry Clarke designed Books of Remembrance, the Ginchy Cross, and a selection of Great War related artefacts. (Entry by guided tour only)
Sunken gardens located at the rear of the pavilions are planted with a Rose for each of the fallen.
