The Director of the ISI, Michael McNaughton, published the ISI Annual Report 2025.

Highlights of the Report include:

1,085 Protective Certificates issued, 88% of which were for Personal Insolvency Arrangements, the solution that deals with mortgage debt.

937 debt solutions were put in place.

A representative sample from 2025 shows that, of those borrowers who availed of a PIA, 96% had terms which saw them remain in their family home while 33% of borrowers had a reduction in their mortgage debt through a write-down.

85 people were adjudicated bankrupt, with 75 people exiting bankruptcy.
