Special thanks to the Inchicore Environmental Group for all the hard work at their recent Canal Clean up. Looking forward to their next clean up in April during the National Spring Clean week!

The Inchicore Environmental Group organised another successful clean up on Saturday. This time we targeted the canal from Suir Road to Blackhorse Bridge. There was a great turn out and we collected an impressive amount of rubbish from the canal. The interest that passers by expressed in the group was great and we hopefully have a few new members for future clean up's.

Inland Fisheries Ireland has created an exciting new smart phone app that is now available for free download from the Google Play and iTunes App stores.

The easy to use and readily accessible ‘IFI – Invasive Species’ app will aid users in the identification of invasive species and permit them to take georeferenced photographs that will immediately be uploaded to the IFI server. The information so received will be reviewed, uploaded onto the IFI species database and, if the sighting is of something new or particularly worrying, will trigger an immediate rapid response and on-site survey by IFI staff.

IFI are hoping that as many people as possible will use this app and help them in its ongoing battle against Aquatic Invasive Species. Visit the Google Play or iTunes store to get the app.

Inland Fisheries Ireland is the state agency responsible for inland fisheries and sea angling in Ireland.
