⚠️ COMMUNITY ALERT - Lurgan Park ⚠️

We want to make everyone, especially women and girls, aware of a serious incident that took place in Lurgan Park this morning.

A woman walking her dogs was assaulted while getting into her car at the Windsor Avenue entrance. The attacker entered the passenger side of her vehicle and assaulted her. She managed to fight him off, and he fled in the direction of Castle Lane.

The incident happened in broad daylight while other people were around.

Unfortunately there was no CCTV footage, so the suspect has not been identified but there’s a description of the male:
• Approximatately in his late 20s, early 30s
• Mole on the side of his face
• Wearing a black puffer jacket
• Wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and black and red trainers

Please stay alert when using the park and its car parks. Stay aware of your surroundings and on darker evenings, please let someone know where you are going.

Our thoughts are with the lady involved, as I’m sure she is left shaken from the ordeal.
