His Excellency Dr. Lahcen Mahraoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ireland, was delighted to attend the inaugural reception of the exhibition by Moroccan painter Khalid Kanjaoui, who resides in Kilkenny.

Hosted at the Market Cross Shopping Centre in Kilkenny, the event celebrated the talent and creativity of Mr. Kanjaoui while highlighting the important role of art in promoting cultural dialogue and strengthening the ties of friendship between the Kingdom of Morocco and Ireland.

The opening reception was honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Kilkenny, Andrew McGuinness, and Deputy John McGuinness TD, reflecting the significance of this cultural occasion and the strong support for artistic initiatives that bring communities together.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco warmly congratulates Mr. Khalid Kanjaoui on this remarkable exhibition and wishes him every success. The Embassy also extends its sincere appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of this inspiring cultural event.

On the occasion of Throne Day marking the 27th Anniversary of the Enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ireland hosted at National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire , a reception that brought together distinguished guests from across Ireland’s political, diplomatic, academic, cultural, and business communities.

The event welcomed ministers, deputies, senators, ambassadors, former ministers, senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs, councillors, university presidents, representatives of public institutions, and leaders from the fields of business, arts, science, and education.

The programme commenced with the national anthems of the Kingdom of Morocco and Ireland, reflecting the strong friendship and growing ties between the two nations. Guests were then addressed by H.E. Dr. Lahcen Mahraoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ireland, who highlighted the significant achievements of Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the excellent relations between Morocco and Ireland. This was followed by remarks from H.E. James Lawless, Minister for Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, who underscored the importance of continued cooperation and partnership between both countries.

Following the official ceremony, guests enjoyed a delightful Moroccan lunch featuring traditional tagines, couscous, pastillas, exquisite Moroccan pastries, refreshing mint tea, and fresh fruits. The warm hospitality, rich flavours, and vibrant atmosphere created a memorable occasion that celebrated Moroccan culture, friendship, and international cooperation.

A wonderful evening of diplomacy, cultural exchange, and celebration, reflecting the enduring values and vision that continue to guide the Kingdom of Morocco.

Congratulations to Moroccan dancer Youssef Mourahab on winning Morocco’s first-ever gold medal at the Dance World Cup 2026 in Dublin, Ireland! 🇲🇦🇮🇪

With an outstanding score of 90.9, Youssef claimed the Senior category title, making history while proudly representing Temps’Danse Casablanca.

It’s also worth highlighting that Morocco was the only Arab and African nation represented at this year’s Dance World Cup, making this historic achievement even more remarkable. The Moroccan delegation showcased exceptional talent and proudly flew the flag for both the Arab world and Africa on the global stage.

Congratulations to Youssef and the entire Moroccan team on this unforgettable milestone. Bravo! 🥇👏

HE Dr. Lahcen Mahraoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ireland, attended yesterday’s luncheon organized by the newly established Association Éire-Maracó, where he had the pleasure of meeting members of the Moroccan diaspora in Ireland.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for members of the Moroccan community to come together, strengthen their connections, and exchange views in a convivial atmosphere. It also served as a platform to reflect on ways to further enhance the cultural, sporting, and friendship ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and Ireland.

On this occasion, HE Dr. Lahcen Mahraoui commended the efforts aimed at fostering dialogue and cooperation within the Moroccan community and encouraged initiatives that contribute to strengthening the longstanding relations between the two countries.
