Ní neart go cur le chéile. What one country cannot do alone, Europe can do together.

The EU budget helps finance common priorities. But if Europe wants to do more for its citizens, it also needs stronger and more stable funding.

That is why Parliament is calling for new revenue sources to help finance the EU budget and repay the Covid-era borrowing.

Caring for others has no gender 🫂

Yet care services are still primarily carried out by women.

Whether it's childcare, elderly care, or caring for people with disabilities, around 60% of informal care work is carried out by women. This imbalance is called the gender care gap, and Parliament is working to close it by calling for:

• Affordable and accessible care services
• Fair wages and better working conditions in the care sector
• Parental leave and flexible working arrangements
• Better protection and recognition of informal carers
• Equal participation of men and women in caregiving

This collaboration traces the unseen threads that connect communities across Ireland — threads of story, memory, and lived experience.

Each artwork begins with a question: What does it mean to inhabit a landscape? To carry its histories? To add your voice to its unfolding story? Through individual responses and collective exchange, the project unfolds as a conversation — layered, attentive, and open.

Echoes Across an Island, featuring artwork from Ulster University and SETU students, runs at the Europa Gallery at Dublin's Europa Experience until 16th July.
