June: the month we entered our party era 🎉

Ambassador hosted one of the biggest diplomatic parties of 2026 before swapping dry land for the deck of the HMS Somerset for a reception at sea 🌊Thanks for having us !

The Ambassador and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Minister for Defence travelled to London for a packed programme of meetings with the UK’s Foreign Office and Ministry of Defence. We also welcomed Minister James Frith to Dublin.

Somewhere between discussions on offshore wind, economic resilience and UK-Ireland cooperation, there was also time to keep a close eye on the FIFA World Cup scores ⚽️

Ever wondered what a party at the Glen looks like? Then follow for part 2 👀 But first…

The Ambassador’s Residence looked very different for the King’s Birthday Party. 🥳 Between the photo booth and the special Glencairn 70 cocktail - celebrating 70 years of the Glen as an Ambassador’s residence - it was hard to pick a favourite.

(But low key, if we had to choose, it would probably be the Chef’s special sausage rolls, with fillings inspired by England, Scotland and Wales, topped off with the Ambassador’s secret sauce🤤).
