Hello everyone, it is great to see so many early sign ups for the organising team after only one day. For those of you who are still hesitant about signing up, or for those of you who have little experience in the realm of European issues, we here at the committee are happy announce that we will be organising a trip to Politico’s 20th Annual EU Studies Fair in February 2019.

The Studies Fair is a great opportunity to meet representatives from top class educational institutions throughout Europe and get an insider track on how to develop a successful academic career path.

The event will be taking place in Brussels from 8-9th of February. The event is free to register to, and if you are interested, we may be able to avail of group bookings for accommodation and the like.

If you would like to avail of this wonderful opportunity, register at http://www.eustudiesfair.com/ and tell them you heard about the event through one of the EU Studies Fair Ambassadors.

As always feedback, comments and queries can be sent to [email protected] and let us know if you would like to head to the studies fair, places will be limited for the number of people we will be able to bring, so the earlier you let us know the better.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

DG of ISEP 2019, Peter Honer.

Hello Everyone, we at the ISEP are back after quite the hiatus and we would just like you all to know that registration to be part of the 2019 organizing team is officially open!

We have done a lot of research on the structures of MEU’s throughout Europe, and though this event is not going to be as intensive, we believe that it will be an excellent foundation for any future groups who may want to establish something similar going forward.

Positions are open to all people, of all fields of study, from any university, so long as they will be available for group meetups in Dublin on a regular basis.

No prior experience in either the participation of or organization of these types of events is required, but we at the organizing team will, of course, welcome the insight of those who have worked in these kinds of events in the past.

Roles are not set as such, but we would encourage candidates to show a preference for any of the following:

Content – This category involves the creation of and setting of the scope of materials which shall be discussed at the ISEP. The Content team shall elect a Commissioner to propose the directive or regulations generally, as well as determine the stakeholders to appear as lobbyists throughout the simulation.

Legal and Political Support – Legal officers shall review any amendments submitted by participants to make sure that they are compliant with EU law, additionally, they shall endeavor to provide guidance where a participant is unsure of the legal status of their proposed amendment. Political officers shall provide general party guidance to further clarify what their party’s position is on a given topic. They shall endeavor to provide materials that the participants are likely to find useful and advise the more inexperienced members on the procedural rules that govern the event.

Sponsorship and Partnerships – The primary role of this group is to secure either financial or administrative support for the ISEP itself, as well as for any evening entertainment that will be proposed by the events team. They shall ensure that any group that sponsors the event shall receive adequate representation and acknowledgment

Events - This group shall be responsible for any evening entertainment accompanying the event as well as any provisions necessary throughout the ISEP. They shall also endeavor to organize the provision of travel details for those who are not familiar with the venue.

Correspondence – External correspondence shall work closely with the administrative bodies of the potential venue for the ISEP in order to ensure that the event runs smoothly. This shall include the sourcing of relevant materials from interested parties who may wish to assist in supporting the event. Internal correspondence shall endeavor to accurately relay any relevant information gleamed to the organizing committee in a timely fashion.

Public Relations – This shall include the management of any social media accounts, the organization of poster campaigns to attract participants and the drafting of presentation speeches for lecture theatres or any other venue where participants may be found.

Please use the form below to record your responses.

Any additional feedback, comments or queries can be sent to [email protected].

Looking forward to meeting you all,

ISEP 2019 Organising Team
