Last night we had the pleasure of The Lord Mayor Councillor Ray McAdam, ACEO Dennis Kealy, PO DOD CEP Carthy and Paul Clark Chairman 2nd Battalion ONE present the 75th Medal to 97 DCD Volunteers in City Hall.

Very busy day today with Barrettstown 42k and 24k across the Dublin Mountains and the Women’s Rugby Match in the Aviva. 75 Volunteers on duty, Command and Control, Drone Team, Medical Teams and Rescue Teams. Special Thanks to Kildare Civil Defence for providing a Welfare Team and Catering Wagon.

We have recently gained a few new followers and supporters on the page 👋

First off, hello, and you are very welcome.

We are the local Civil Defence unit in Dun Laoghaire, based at the Fire Station on Kill Avenue, made up of ordinary people from across South County Dublin, with members from Templeogue, Clonskeagh, Dun Laoghaire, Shankill and everywhere in between, who give their time to support events, assist during emergencies, provide medical cover, search support, welfare assistance, flood response and much more.

Training, teamwork and community spirit are at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud to serve both our local community, the greater Dublin area and, when called upon, nationally.

We use this page to share some of our training, duties, events and the occasional behind-the-scenes look at unit life.
