It was a great honour to be elected leas cathaoirleach for the next year. This has only been made
Possible by the constituents of Dundalk South who voted me in as their county councillor.
I will continue to work hard for this area and push every project to the best of my ability.

Cllr Dolores Minogue was elected as the Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council for the 2026-2027 term of office at the Annual General Meeting at County Hall, Dundalk on Monday.

The Ardee-based councillor becomes the first female to hold the office of Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council on two occasions, having previously served in the role from 2020-2021.

Cllr. Shane Mc Guinness was elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach.

This is great news for the Kilkerly, hackballsross and rassan area. Look forward to this project completed…

A major upgrade of the N53 is set to get underway after Louth County Council signed a contract for the Hackballscross to Rassan Road Realignment Scheme.

The project will improve road safety, drainage, and connectivity along a key transport route linking Dundalk, Castleblayney, and the N2.

This has become a really important issue and I feel it needs to take precedence over every project now. Lives will be lost and work needs to start now.
This should have happened many years ago. The vast amount of funds being received for the past 15 years on builders levies and funding should have been put back into this area and for too long, funding was not used in and around this junction.
If we cannot start this project now, a fast reduction in the speed limit to 50klm immediately with a fixed speed camera fitted… this could not be that difficult..
I will be speaking on the radio on Monday about it.

Having been contacted last week by residents and the wider community in Knockbridge, the council Engineers have agreed to make changes to the design and layout of the new Kerbing and ground in front of the shrine.
Looking forward to seeing the Safe Routes to school project completed in time for the school opening in September.

Under the community climate action programme, I’m delighted to announce Blackrock and Haggardstown community centre got just over €50,000 of a grant.. as did other amounts to Dromiskin tidy towns and Kilkerly and Muthevnamore..delighted with this and it will certainly go into very valuable projects.

Great to get this work completed in part up at the chapel road. Thanks to the council for doing a great job.
