The first two seats have been announced and their transfers will be distributed. At this point, I would just really like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted and supported me along the way. To top the poll in Dulargy is honestly such a privilege. To know that the people in my own community backed me above candidates from larger parties, is a huge honour. Regardless of the ultimate outcome, it’s something I really appreciate.

Almost 110,000 votes could not be counted in the last election as they were spoiled votes. Please simply write the number 1 in the box beside my name (or your chosen candidate). Then, if you wish you can place a number 2 beside your 2nd favourite candidate, 3 beside your 3rd and so on. It is not a necessity to give everyone a number all you need is a number 1.

So remember: don’t write anything else or make any markings on your paper-- not an ‘x’, not a ✔️, no Roman numerals, don’t write my name or your name anywhere on the ballot paper etc. just a number 1 in the box beside the candidates name.

ℹ️Important Info for Election Day tomorrow Friday 7th June:‼️‼️

🗳If you haven't received your voting card but you are registered, don't worry, bring your photo ID (passport/driving licence etc) to the polling station and you can still vote. Polling stations are open 7am to 10pm

🗳Put a number 1 beside my name. Very important to not just tick it. Continue your preferences if you wish ie give others a 2, 3 etc.

🗳Do not write anything else on the ballot paper or your vote will be discounted and considered a spoiled vote.

🗳There are 2 elections tomorrow which you can vote in - the local elections (for which I am running) and the European elections. Therefore you will have 2 ballot papers. If you wish to vote in the European elections follow the same format with a number 1 beside your chosen candidate.

I was delighted to be able to arrange a trip for 6th class pupils from Rampark NS, Lordship to visit the Dáil recently. Rampark is another school in the district I had the privilege of teaching in for a year. The teachers often do project work so I knew it would be of interest to them.

This week I had the opportunity to return to my old primary school, Dulargy NS, to speak to the 5th class students who are learning all about elections and politics. The children had prepared some great questions and it was lovely to see their interest in local issues. Thank you to the children, and their teacher, for inviting me in.

A warm welcome for Little Amal at Dundalk Town Square this evening. Amal is a giant puppet of a ten-year-old Syrian refugee who has travelled across the world since her construction in 2021 inspiring community led events with a focus on diversity, inclusion and peace.

Beautiful music including music by Roisin award Morrow and Setanta Choir and a warm welcome by local schools and scout groups among many of the public.

A lovely event that sparked many conversations including in my own house. Congratulations to all involved.
