💜☕ What a lovely morning at our Go Purple Day Coffee Morning in Kilrush Garda Station! ☕💜

Go Purple Day is an initiative led by An Garda Síochána with the support of domestic abuse services across Ireland. It aims to raise awareness about the supports and services available to people who experience domestic abuse.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, wore purple, enjoyed a cuppa, and helped support such an important cause. The morning was filled with great chats, delicious treats, and wonderful community spirit.

A special mention to Clan Clare Local Area Network (CLAN) is an interagency network working together to support those impacted by domestic violence and coercive control.

We really appreciate all the support shown today. 💜

24 professionals from Clare & Tipperary division attended half-day training on the role of domestic abuse coordinator in medium and high-risk cases of domestic abuse and coercive control.

The training was delivered by Detective Inspector David Finnerty, Garda Annette Connolly, Inspector Aiden Lonergan, Madeline Mc Aleer (Haven Horizons), and representatives from local agencies: Clare Haven, Ascend, Cuan Saor, MOVE Ireland and Tusla.

Madeline Mc Aleer said, “Interagency training must form part of a multiagency response if we are to ensure victim safety, hold perpetrators accountable, protect children and ultimately save lives.”
