A wonderful opportunity for film enthusiasts in New Ross tomorrow. See also, included in the line-up, some short films made here at The Presentation Centre as part of the Co Wexford Youth Film Project during the Summer - 3pm Saturday at St Michael's Theatre, New Ross :)

FILM PREMIERE TOMORROW!

We are delighted to present the premiere of all the short films we've made since last summer at Wexford Widescreen Youth Film Festival at 3 pm in St. Michael's Theatre tomorrow.

As well as the films made in the main project, we'll also be screening the CBS and Presentation Centre films – so come along for your DVDs/certificates.

At 5 pm in the bistro, project participant Michael Walsh will be interviewing Tommy Flavin about his feature documentary - Where There's a Well. There will also be a video booth in the foyer showing award-winning short animations from the Pure Animation Training Programme.

Great opportunity to get the inside scoop on the making of 'Brooklyn' from location Manager Gordon Wycherley tonight at Enniscorthy Library, still a few spaces left ...

'Behind the scenes' Gordon Wycherley, the location manager for the filming of Colm Toibin’s Brooklyn in Enniscorthy will give a talk in Enniscorthy Library today Thursday, April 10 at 7.00pm. Gordon will talk about the process of selecting locations and making sure that everything works smoothly for the film crew and the local community. Our final act is The Tenschpots who will be kicking off the show tonight.

The Tenschpots are an up and coming rock band from Enniscorthy.
They have been actively gigging for almost 2 years now. With influences like the Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters, the lads are currently in the process of writing their first release which will be out later this year.

Today's featured performer is special guest speaker Peter Murphy.

Author Peter Murphy is from Enniscorthy in Co. Wexford, Ireland. His first novel John the Revelator was published in the UK and Ireland by Faber & Faber and in the US by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and was nominated for the 2011 IMPAC literary award, shortlisted for the 2009 Costa Book Awards and the Kerry Group Fiction prize. His second novel, Shall We Gather at the River (2013), is published by Faber in Ireland and the UK and as The River and Enoch O’Reilly in the US. He is also a founder member of the spoken word/music ensemble The Revelator Orchestra, whose first album The Sounds of John the Revelator was released in October 2012.

Peter’s journalism has been published in Rolling Stone, the Irish Times, the Sunday Business Post, The Guardian and Hot Press magazine. He has contributed liner notes to the remastered edition of the Anthology of American Folk Music and is also a regular guest on RTE’s The Works. His short story The Blacklight Ballroom was included in the Faber anthology New Irish Short Stories, edited by Joseph O’Connor. Another story, The Gloamen Man, was featured in the New Island anthology Silver Threads of Hope, edited by Sinead Gleeson.

Peter will be giving a talk on his experience interviewing Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl and Nevermind producer Butch Vig.

Today's featured artist for our Kurt Cobain 20th anniversary gig is The Boy in the Attic.

TBITA are a hard rock band from Enniscorthy.
Formed in 2010, the four piece fuse elements of stoner rock, prog rock and hard rock with mainstream sensibility to create a style that is truly their own.

Since their formation, TBITA have been steadily writing, recording, gigging and building a fan base. Playing in such prestigious Dublin venues as Whelan's, the Button Factory, Fibber Magee's, Sin É, Voodoo Lounge, the Gypsy Rose and many more along the way.

2011 saw the release of their self titled début EP recorded at the Orchard Studio, followed by the release of single 'Universe' and their début gig in London in 2013. They plan to release an album and video some time in 2014 through Irish rock label www.facemelterrecords.com.

Today's featured artist for our Kurt Cobain 20th anniversary gig is P.A Doyle
A singer/songwriter who adapts his 'Folk n Roll' style from influences such Robert Johnson, CCR, Jefferson Airplane, Oasis and Rodriguez. Hailing from Enniscorthy his covers background has helped him learned various structures of songwriting.
After a crazy last year his music had to take a back seat but that never stopped him writing. Now, with a clear vision and a fantastic fan base he is ready to make the journey to achieving his goal of as many people listening to his music as possible.
