An t-Sean Bheairic: Ionad Cuartaíochta an Fháil Charraigh

An t-Sean Bheairic: Ionad Cuartaíochta an Fháil Charraigh Cuirfear céad fáilte roimh chuairteoirí agus dhaoine áitiúla sa tSean Bheairic. Buail isteach!

Anseo sa tSean Bheairic, gheobhaidh tú aithne agus eolas ar an chineál saoil agus slí mhaireachtála a bhí ag ár sinsear ar an Fhál Charrach agus sa cheantar tuaithe fá dtaobh de. Tá baile margaidh an Fháil Charraigh suite i gceartlár pharóiste Chloich Cheann Fhaola, ceann de na ceantair Ghaeltachta atá beo bríomhar go fóill in Iarthuaisceart Chondae Dhún na nGall. Tá sé suite ar bhóthar an N56 tua

irim is 47km ó Leitir Ceanainn, an baile mór is gaiste fáis san Eoraip. Thart timpeall air, tá tírdhreach álainn, sléibhte maorga agus gleannta ina bhfuil locha ciúine, agus cósta glan galánta an Atlantaigh. San Ionad Cuartaíochta ar an Fhál Charrach, baintear úsáid as an tsuíomh thar a bheith fóirsteanach seo i gcuideachta saibhris eolais agus lámhdhéantúsáin ar mhaithe le léiriú tuisceanach a thabhairt ar theanga, ar chultúr, ar oidhreacht agus ar stair na hÉireann chomh maith le heolas fá ghléas beo ár sinsear agus a gcuid uirlisí feirmeoireachta. Tógadh an foirgneamh dhá urlár seo i dtús báire sa bhliain 1890 mar Bheairic Péas an Fháil Charraigh. Mhair sé mar sin go dtí gur aistríodh anonn chuig na Gardaí Síochána é sa bhliain 1920. Tá taispeántas buan de stair agus cultúr na beairice le feiceáil taobh istigh den ionad cuartaíochta, rud a fhágann gurb ionad oidhreachta ar leith é An tSean Bheairic. An Fál Carrach, is a market town within the Gaeltacht in Donegal, and is set in the very heart of the Parish of Cloich Cheann Fhaola, which is located in the Northwest of Donegal on the N56 route. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, magnificent Mountains, lake filled valleys and fringed by the Atlantic sea. Language, culture, heritage, history and memories of our ancestor's lifestyles are depicted amidst artefacts and exhibits along with the tools used while working the land. This authentic two-storey building was originally constructed in 1890 as the Falcarragh Police Barracks and used as such until 1920 when it became the Falcarragh Garda Station. Permanent exhibits of the history and culture of the Barracks are displayed within the visitor centre, which adds to the uniqueness and authenticity of the centre.
