Citizens and comrades, the Government of the Galway Democratic Republic sends greetings on this most momentous days in the history of Galway. As we recall the liberation of Galway from Indians and Ice, the nation has been marking this day in the traditional way; with the solemn eating of M̶a̶r̶a̶t̶h̶o̶n̶s̶ Snickers.

This show of military force by the Free State in Galway today, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Galway Democratic Republic's Declaration of Independence, only serves to highlight the terror that the GDR's campaign strikes into the heart of the incompetent and vain Dublin Government.

The Government and the People of the Galway Democratic Republic will not be frightened by this display, nor will we be dissuaded from the path of revolution, liberation and socialism, regardless of many shows like this are provided by the Free State.

Onwards to victory, comrades!

The Government of the Galway Democratic Republic and the Society for Historical Interpretation, Trusteeship and Education send their solemn salutations to all comrades and citizens on this most familiar date, July the 19th.

As we mark Galway's past liberation, the ending of the Ice Age, and the disappearance of Marathons, we invite all citizens to view our latest public art installation in Republic Plaza / Spanish Arch.

Although it may, to the uncultured eye, appear as though building works have engulfed the GDR Declaration of Independence Monument, it is in fact a potent visual metaphor for our Republic's ongoing and righteous struggle to be rid of Free State oppression. 'Republic in a Cage' will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

Onwards to the final victory of the workers and farmers, and of the Galway Democratic Republic.

This transparent Free State show of strength and aggression against Democratic Galway will not have any effect on our people’s heroic resistance nor our will to be free. The GDR Ministry of Defence and Uranium Procurement will continue to monitor the situation.

The GDR Ministry of Defence would like to clarify that this small sinkhole was absolutely not caused by the collapse of the roof of a secret GDR missile silo. There will be no further questions.
