There was a great buzz at Ballybane Community Garden this morning. There was something for everyone: an engaging talk on gardening and biodiversity, energising music by the Ballybane Singing Circle, and face painting and Galway Community Circus for the little ones. What an enjoyable community event, made even better by plenty of sunshine!

The Eastside Arts Festival is in full swing, the weather is complying so far!
Amongst the many events is a gem of a Photographic exhibition in the Ballybane library. For the month of May our walls are adorned with many framed photographs courtesy of Joe Shaughnessy. These photographs display many important milestones in the history of the Eastside of the city. Francie Barrett's journey to the 1996 Summer Olympics quite rightly features in many of the pictures alongside Terry Smith, Chick Gillen and others. Please drop in to us over the next month and set aside some time to savour Joe Shaughnessy's genius in capturing a moment in time.
