Boil Water Notice Lifted – Tullycross & Letterfrack

Good news for people in the Tullycross and Letterfrack areas.

Irish Water has confirmed that the boil water notice, which was in place over the past week, has now been lifted.

The water has passed all tests and is confirmed as fit for human consumption. There is no longer any need to boil the water before drinking or using it.

Thanks to everyone for their patience and cooperation while the issue was being resolved. Great to have things back to normal.

I’m very pleased to welcome today’s decision by the HSE Senior Management Team to recommend Skyclarys for reimbursement.

This is a hugely important step for people living with Friedreich’s Ataxia and their families, who have worked tirelessly to secure access to this treatment.

I want to make a special mention of Senator Senator and Deputy for the work they have done in pursuing this decision and advocating for reimbursement of Skyclarys.

Most importantly, my thoughts are with everyone living with Friedreich’s Ataxia and their families. I know how difficult and anxious this process has been, and I hope today’s decision brings some much-needed reassurance.

Today is a really positive step forward for families affected by Friedreich’s Ataxia.

Good news for passengers travelling between Galway and Dublin.

From Monday 24th August, Iarnród Éireann will begin a six month pilot of an onboard catering trolley on selected Dublin Heuston to Galway services, operated by Irish company .ie

The pilot will initially operate on three services each way. There is also potential for the service to be extended to additional trains and routes during the pilot.

This is a welcome step for passengers travelling between Galway and Dublin, and I will continue to push for improved services and a better experience for everyone using our rail network.

🚶‍♂️ Guided Walk of Rahoon – Heritage Week 2026

I’m delighted to be joining the Guided Walk of Rahoon again this Heritage Week on Saturday, 15 August, from 11am–1pm.

Following the great turnout and interest in last year’s walk, we’ll once again explore some of Rahoon’s most significant historic sites, beginning at Miller’s Lane and continuing to Old Rahoon Cemetery, New Rahoon Cemetery and finishing at Rahoon House.

It’s a great opportunity to discover more about the history of Rahoon and some of the notable people and stories connected with the area.

We need to progress the development of a Minor injuries unit in Galway. I will be meeting local HSE officials over coming weeks to try and progress the issue.

The HSE capital plan for 2026, released in February, ringfenced €84,000 euros to go towards appraisal of a unit.
