Well done to this crew (Glin Development, Glin Tidy Towns & Glin Mens Shed) to Catherine Fitzgerald and everyone behind the scenes at Glin Castle for all the planning and organising.

It would be great to think this event 'just happens overnight' but the amount of work, preparations, and sleepless nights that goes in to this annual event is not for the faint hearted. Well done ladies and gents....take a bow.....you done an amazing job as always 👏 👏 👏 👏

At Glin Castle, we love creating experiences that transcend the ordinary. Step into a world of elegance and grandeur, where every detail of your event is meticulously curated.
Guests might arrive to a welcome of uilleann piper and drummer boy at the castle front - red carpet - and drinks in the grand hall …. entertainments in the castle might include our fabulous local musicians and Irish dancers - then out to the terrace and lawns to admire our green and colourful gardens - and then on in to a pavilion or glass Orangerie for the dinner itself - with views out to our banks of flowering dogwoods ….a smaller group might feast in our large convivial dining room.
We can tailor the event exactly to your requirements!

We love the big exotic crazy leaves of the Gunnera and our guests enjoy the walks we have carved through them leading to our Wildflower meadow on the hill. Gardening for nature is at the heart of what we do at glin and over the past few years the yellow rattle has spread allowing our west limerick wild flowers to increase - creating a glorious habitat for insect life. It’s alive with butterflies and moths and the sound of pollinators and magical for humans too!

Vadim and Catherine have been hard at working creating some vibrant Dixter - inspired pots of eye popping colour! - purple Aeonium grown by us surrounded by zinging begonias from Liscahane nursery in Ardfert, Cuphea and ivies - to match our banana leaf canna pots and seeded echiums - exotic and vibrant! A long day but so satisfying! all for our up coming OPEN DAY 23 rd Please do come and see! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

Fires in grates are very much part of the cosy enveloping embrace we try to foster for our guests - every early evening in the summer we have the hall stove lit with its comforting flicker to welcome guests down for evening drinks. Behind the scenes it takes a fantastic, dedicated team to cut up the fallen winter trees and bring to our yard and chop up - to sustain the house all year round… We are so lucky to have Roman Shatski at the helm and the ever cheerful power house which is Goran and enthusiastic Vadim too! Thank you guys for the Trojan work you do to keep everyone warm and happy!
