Gates are now open at the Woodstock Gardens for day 2 of the 2026 Ireland's Woodland Show.

A giant carved by John Hayes of the Special Branch Carvers from Co. Waterford has arrived for this weekend's Woodland Show at the Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum.

Plans are well underway for Ireland’s Woodland Show at Woodstock Gardens on this Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th.

Enjoy speed carving and sculpture auctions with 10 Celtic Chainsaw Carvers, alongside live woodworking and craft demonstrations. The Craft Village will feature a wide range of crafts, demos and specialist plant stands.

The Tented Village offers talks and walks on forestry, woodland conservation, carbon capture, careers, native woodlands, archery, forest bathing and the Woodstock Gardens Tour.

Families can enjoy arts & crafts, bushcraft, face painting, archery, a reptile zoo, Total Wipeout, forest schools, youth theatre, scouting demos, bungee trampolines and food stalls.

Live music includes Hugh Miller and The Nomads on Saturday, with Cróga and Kilkenny’s Nothings Perfect on Sunday.

Explore the beautiful Victorian gardens, rose garden, famous avenues, magnificent specimen trees and the dramatic mansion ruins overlooking the River Nore.

Gates open 10am daily. Admission €10; children free.

Its all happening in Woodstock this weekend 29th – 30th August 2026

The 2026 Woodlands show is coming to Woodstock Gardens & Arboretum, Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny. The format of the show will follow previous years, bringing opportunities to celebrate Irish trees and all things timber with the Celtic Chainsaw Carvers sculpting their creations during the show, woodland talks, information stands, machinery and equipment displays, mobile saw demonstrations, exhibitions, artisan crafts, food stands and carnival family activities. This year’s show is being supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Kilkenny Leader Partnership and Kilkenny County Council.

The fountain you see today is a replica of the original fountain which once occupied this position. The original is believed to have been sold in the 1920’s. The fountain is located in the ‘Pleasure Grounds’, adjacent to the Walled Garden and was clearly intended as a focal point as it is visible from many viewpoints. The fountain was composed of two tiers of stone basins rising out of a circular stone lined pond.
