Woodville Walled Garden Woodville Walled Garden Set at the foot of the Slieve Aughty Mountains near the village of Kilchreest.

This historical garden has been beautifully restored with colourful herbaceous borders, established fruit trees and serene water fountain. The Dovecote which is one of the few remaining garden follies in the West of Ireland is now home to a family of white fan tailed doves.

Lovely group from Cliften on tour of the snowdrop collection at Woodville Walled Garden. Woodville was originally owned by the Darcy family dating back to the mid 1700’s. Francis Darcy, the last member of the Darcy Family to resided at Woodville, was a third cousin of John Darcy, the founder of Clifden Town. What a great connection and lovely to meet up with colleagues from Cliften with a shared interest in the DArcy family history.
