Bus Stop Enhancement Programme
Improvements are now planned for bus stops in Callan and Thomastown.

🚌 Bus Stop Enhancement Programme Continues Across Kilkenny
More improvements are now planned for bus stops in Callan and Thomastown.
📍 Callan: An additional shelter will be installed at the southbound stop on Green Street, along with upgrades to the northbound stop.
📍 Thomastown: Works will include new kerbing, bus stop markings, and updated timetable information at both stops.
These improvements are designed to enhance the visibility, safety, and comfort of passengers.
🗓️ The consultation period is open until 4 September.

Songs After Dark 🎶 is a new series of songwriting workshops led by songwriter Luan Parle, taking place this September and October at the Archer Room at Hole in the Wall, Kilkenny.

Suitable for beginners and experienced songwriters alike. Participants can attend one, two, three or all four workshops.

📅 Thursdays: 10 Sept, 17 Sept, 24 Sept & 1 Oct
⏰ 6.30pm - 10pm

A new term with horticulture-based training and workshops, creative and educational projects, guest speakers and day trips. The Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, and Libraries Ireland are hosting Ireland’s fifth Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) week from 19-27 September 2026, in partnership with European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW).👏
The SDGs work towards ambitions such as an end to poverty, access to decent work, sustainable consumption, protection of nature, better health and wellbeing, universal access to education, gender equality, climate action, and peaceful societies.
To take part in SDG week, organise an event – no matter how big or small – or highlight an activity or project that promotes sustainable development and join the annual week of action for the SDGs.

🍂 Autumn Leaf Composting Project

Kilkenny County Council is inviting resident associations to take part in this year’s Autumn Leaf Composting Project.

🌿 Express your interest today!

Kilkenny County Council is seeking expression of interests from resident associations across Kilkenny that would like to participate in this years autumn leaf composting project. We are seeking 8 resident estates to take part. It involves a one hour training session online and a 2 hour practical workshop over the weekend of the 26th/27th of September to create leaf cages for your estate that will turn autumn leaves into compost.
