Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership At Kilkenny Recreation & Sport Partnership our vision is Getting Kilkenny Active!

The key aims of the LSP are to increase participation in sport, and to ensure that local resources are used to best effect. Some of the outcomes we seek are:

Club development
Volunteer training
Enhanced planning of sport at local level
Local directories of sports bodies & facilities
School, club, community and national governing body (NGB) links
Increased levels of local participation, especially

amongst specific target groups such as older people, girls & women, people with disabilities, unemployed people, and those who live in identified disadvantaged communities

🏊‍♂️ Become a Swim Buddy! 🏊‍♀️
Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership is looking for volunteers to support children with additional needs as they learn to swim through their Transition Year Programme.
✅ Provide one-to-one assistance in the water
✅ Help build confidence and enjoyment
✅ Attend the majority of Wednesday afternoon lessons at The Watershed
Making swimming fun and enjoyable is the most important role of a Swim Buddy!

Minding Your Wellbeing is a programme that supports positive mental health and wellbeing for older adults.

Minding Your Wellbeing for Older people in Droichead FRC Callan will start on 22nd September for 6 weeks on Tuesday mornings and still has places available.

The programme will start in Newpark FRC on 4th September for 6 weeks and is fully booked. However, for anybody interested, please sign up for the waitlist as this will determine demand and review to propose another programme in early 2027

KRSP are putting a spotlight on discovering the ways the people of Kilkenny can get active. Take a look at this! 👀

Running Festival

• Family stroll around the walking track- the Butterfly Loop. Opened from 10.30am-12pm.
• 5km run at 11.15am
• 10km run at 11.00 am

On the day there will also be entertainment including, giant golf, face painting and lots of carnival style games such as hook the duck, shoot the spaceship, ball game activities, and lots more.

Register for one of the activities above. Included with your registration is a goodie bag that includes a t-shirt, event goodies, and a food voucher.

Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership are delighted to help Irish Wheelchair Association in their fundraising day on The Parade, Kilkenny today. KRSPs gazebo kept the cyclists cool while our adapted bikes enabled all to cycle and help with the fundraising. Well done to all and if you are down there pop by to say hello and donate!
