The Building Limes Forum Ireland (BLFI)
The Building Limes Forum Ireland (BLFI) is hosting a 2-day practical lime workshop on 5–6 June, focused on traditional lime materials, repair techniques, and conservation practice.
Location: Killoran House, Killoran, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, E41 Y925
The workshop is intended for practitioners and those already working or involved in traditional buildings, conservation, maintenance, or heritage-related projects. It combines practical demonstrations with hands-on learning and discussion.
If associated groups would like to send participants, tickets are currently available at a discounted rate.
Light food and refreshments will be provided during the workshop.

‘Songs of Our Place’ – Song writing Workshop with Luan Parle
‘Songs of Our Place’ Workshop – This Saturday
South Kilkenny Historical Society invites you to a free song writing workshop with Luan Parle on Saturday, May 30th, 10am–1pm at Mullinavat Parish Hall. Open to everyone, it welcomes local stories and memories as inspiration. Places are limited, so please register soon. Participants who play instruments are encouraged to bring them along.
This workshop is free.
‘Songs of Our Place’ brings together community groups across Co Kilkenny to explore local history, memories and stories through song writing. In this three-hour workshop, participants learn to create lyrics, develop melodies and collaborate on a song for performance. Led by acclaimed songwriter Luan Parle, who has over 18 years’ teaching experience and has worked with world-renowned artists, the workshop celebrates shared voices and creativity.

🌼 Athrú - Changing Seasons, Changing Times

Athrú, an exciting new project funded by Creative Ireland and run jointly by County Kilkenny Heritage Office and University College Dublin’s School of Geography, is working to record and preserve Kilkenny’s living heritage, and they need your help!

➡️ Over the next few weeks, four community conversations will be held across Kilkenny to better understand the aspects of Kilkenny’s living heritage that are important to the people and communities. Living heritage can be defined as the practices, traditions, skills, crafts and knowledge of our county.

🗨️ Please come along to one of these community conversations and make sure that the parts of your heritage that you practice or know about are included! Everyone is welcome and refreshment will be provided.

Coilín was part of the Independent Advisory Committee on Nature Restoration which released its report recently to provide recommendations relating to the development and content of Ireland's Nature Restoration Plan (NRP) which is required under the EU Nature Restoration Law.
