Killala House

Killala House Once restored we intend to open the gardens as an attraction, complementing the new Monasteries of the Moy greenway from Ballina to Killala.

Designed by architects Milla & Symes in 1983 this gracious and light filled house was commissioned for LAdy Augusta Gore Knox. She imbuded the house and lands with a productive air complete with bespoke stables for horse training and an inspired and idyllic garden in the heart of Mayo. Since 2015 this period house was bought by the UK Irish entrepreneur Mr Daniel MacAuliffe as his private home, he

continues to slowly clear, survey and rediscover the grounds of the overgrown estate with a view to phased opening up of the gardens to the public during the summer and engagement with the new Greenway being built by the Council on the lands just behind the house. This slow but rewarding work provides ongoing sustainable employment to the are and accompanied by immense enthusiasm and developing long term investment programme.
