Open Monday to Friday 9.30am-4pm Centres build on local neighbourhood solidarity and support mutual care and self-help initiatives.

Welcome to the Facebook of the Killaloe/Ballina Family Resource Centre, a voluntary community organisation for the Killaloe/Ballina area. The aim of a Family and Community Services Resource Centre is essentially to help combat disadvantage by improving the functioning of the family unit. Centres can act as a first step to community participation and social inclusion for the most vulnerable and mar

ginalised families. They also build on informal support networks and activities that develop spontaneously at local community level and develop practical links with local schools and professional services.

Today is the last day of my clinical placement. For the past two years I have been so lucky to work for two amazing organisations and Killaloe/Ballina Community & Family Resource Centre Itโ€™s difficult for me to find the words to express my appreciation for the support and encouragement they gave me especially when I was unsure and wobbled in the early days.

Iโ€™m also deeply thankful to every client who allowed me to travel alongside them in some of the most vulnerable and challenging times of their lives. Their courage, honesty, and strength has inspired me to be braver in my own life. It has been a privilege to do this work with them.

I will be opening my own private practice from the 15th June but I will be continuing my association with both Inner Voice Inner Journey and Killaloe/Ballina Community and Family Resource Centre. Thereโ€™s no way youโ€™re getting rid of me that easy ๐Ÿ˜‚

We are delighted to announce the return of the Rainbows Programme ๐ŸŒˆ at the /Ballina Community & Family Resource Centre , beginning on 7th May.

This 9-week group support programme offers a safe, welcoming space ๐Ÿค for children aged 10โ€“12 years who may be experiencing bereavement or parental separation. Through gentle conversation, shared experiences, and age-appropriate activities, children are supported to understand and express their feelings ๐Ÿ’ฌ alongside others who may be going through something similar.

Rainbows is not counselling, but a carefully designed listening and support programme that helps young people build resilience ๐Ÿ’›, connection, and confidence during difficult times.

At the heart of this programme is a simple belief: stronger families start with small steps.

๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’›

If you feel this programme could support a child in your life, we encourage you to get in touch ๐Ÿ“ง or scan the QR code for more information.

A wonderful celebration of music and community spirit at the Killaloe Ballina Community & Family Resource Centre, as our 2026 group performed outdoors to showcase their amazing progress! ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ Over six weeks, complete beginners grew in confidence and ability, and it was fantastic to see their hard work come together in such a joyful performance for the community.

A huge thank you to Clรญona Donnellan for her energy, encouragement, and fantastic teaching, and to & Clare Education & Training Board Community Education for facilitating this popular and valued community music course. Your support continues to make opportunities like this possible for everyone. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Thanks also to all participants and the community for their support. ๐Ÿ’›

We are proud to support participants from Killaloe/Ballina Community & Family Resource Centre and Silver Arch Family Resource Centre as they take part in the Sailing Into Wellness
This inspiring initiative offers a unique opportunity to get out on the water, try something new and step beyond everyday routines in a safe and supportive environment. Through hands-on sailing and shared experiences, participants are supported to build confidence, develop new skills, strengthen connections and improve overall wellbeing.

Programmes like this highlight the importance of access to positive, inclusive opportunities that promote personal growth, resilience and a sense of belonging. Itโ€™s fantastic to see participants embracing the experience, supporting one another and creating lasting memories along the way. ๐ŸŒŠ
