Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Cavan. Storm Dave will bring very strong southerly winds, veering westerly by the evening with severe gusts and coastal gales. The warning will be in effect from 2pm - 12am (Midnight) on Saturday, 4th April.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow snow / ice warning for County Cavan, effective from 00:01hrs on Wednesday, 19 November until 12noon on Thursday, 20 November.

Cavan County Fire Service is currently treating an extensive oil spill stretching from Ballyconnell to Belturbet, on to the Cavan Bypass and out as far as Lavey and Stradone. Driver caution is advised.
