📣 Public Consultation Event – Cathedral Quarter Park, Letterkenny | 3rd June

Donegal County Council invites you to attend a Public Consultation Event for Cathedral Quarter Park as plans continue to progress for this exciting regeneration project.

📍 Venue: An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny
📅 Date: Wednesday, 3rd June

Two sessions will be hosted on the day:

🎨 Artist Community Workshop | 2–4pm
A targeted, workshop-style session for the artist community, featuring a presentation from the project architects. This interactive session will give artists an opportunity to engage directly with the emerging plans—particularly the proposed creative hub for visual artists—and share valuable feedback to help shape the next stage of design.

💬 Public Drop-in Consultation | 4–7pm
Open to all members of the public, this informal drop-in session provides an opportunity to view the latest plans, learn more about the vision for Cathedral Quarter Park, and share your thoughts. Your feedback will play an important role in informing the project as it moves towards the statutory Part 8 stage later this year.
This is a key moment to engage with the future of Cathedral Quarter Park—we encourage you to come along and have your say.

You are invited to take part in an exciting cross-border community heritage project focused on the tragedy of the RMS Laurentic and the men who lost their lives.

This project brings together people with an interest in local history, genealogy, family research, and community heritage to help uncover and preserve the stories of those connected to the Laurentic disaster. Through a series of genealogy workshops and research sessions, participants will have the opportunity to investigate the lives, families, and backgrounds of the men who died.

The research gathered during the project will contribute to the Laurentic Memorial Website and will also be included in a commemorative publication dedicated to recording and remembering these men and their stories for future generations.

We warmly welcome anyone with an interest in:

- Genealogy and family history

- Local and social history

- Archival research

- Community heritage projects

- Cross-border cultural collaboration

No previous research experience is necessary, and support and guidance will be provided throughout the workshops.

This is a unique opportunity to help preserve an important part of our shared history while connecting with others who are passionate about uncovering the past.
