Darkness Into Light 2026, proudly supported by Electric Ireland, is Pieta (The charity for su***de and self-harm prevention) biggest fundraiser, the 5km walk will take place at 4:15 a.m. on
Saturday, 9th of May, 2026. The fundsraised through Darkness Into Light supports Pieta's lifesaving free services to people in your community that have been affected by su***de or self-harm. This inspiring event also symbolises hope, as communities come together to support
mental health, su***de and self-harm prevention.❤️⚘️

Met Éireann have issued a nationwide wind warning today as Storm Dave makes its way across Ireland.

We’re not saying the storm was named after Dave O’Donovan from Kinsale Fire Brigade… but the timing is very suspicious 👀

Strong winds, heavy showers and blustery conditions expected.

Secure loose items and take care on the roads.

In the last 12 months we had 4 new Firefighters join our crew here at kinsale fire and rescue, Now a crew of 12 Firefighters, they are all ready to help their Community and surrounding areas, each of them spending 3 weeks on a recruitment course at Bandon Fire Station training centre on Firefighting techniques with Cork County Fire Service instructors. And to all other new recruits joining numerous fire stations around the county enjoy it and have a great career 😊🚒

A video from yesterday mornings Gas Leak incident in kinsale before emergency services arrived on scene, just shows you how dangerous things could escalate, kinsale Gardai on their quick response and evacuating all the residents from the area making sure our job was abit easier to deal with, they had all residents cleared from the danger zone for us to concentrate on stopping the leak and the help from Carrigaline fire and rescue who assisted us, we managed to get the tank turned off and keep the area safe as fast as possible... thanks to all the residents and local people of kinsale for their quick actions and vacating the area for kinsale gardai at that time... when everybody works together and help each other in these situations like yesterday's incident, it makes our community stronger as we continue to looking out for each...🚒👮‍♂️

Update the Glen road is opened again thank you all the residents and puclic for making our job easier this morning also the great work kinsale Gardai who were first on scene evacuating everyone....
