Your magical Christmas adventure begins on the hour as families enter our theatre, take their seats and wait with excitement for the show to begin.

An elf appears and begins to tell the wonderful story of Christmas. Suddenly, the curtains open to reveal Tall Paul—the greatest Christmas magician in all of Lapland!

But trouble is never far away. The Naughty Elf is causing chaos and trying to ruin Christmas! Just when all hope seems lost, Santa makes a spectacular entrance down the chimney—and, to everyone’s surprise, he knows the names of all the children!

After the show, your adventure continues through Santa’s Village.

Your first stop is the magical Sleigh House, followed by Santa’s House. You’ll then visit the Workshop, where the busy elves are preparing for Christmas, before stopping at the enchanting North Pole Post Office.

Next, enter the Present House, where every child gets to choose a special present of their very own.

But the Naughty Elf is still up to mischief and is trying to steal Christmas! Santa has disappeared into his secret office, and now the children must follow the clues and find him.

This is a magical Christmas journey unlike anything experienced in Ireland before—an unforgettable search for Santa that children will remember for years to come.

At last, the children find Santa and meet him once again for a truly special family moment. Bring your own camera or phone and take as many photographs as you wish.

Your adventure concludes with time to sit back and relax while enjoying tea, coffee, children’s drinks and delicious festive treats.

✨️The end of one chapter and the beginning of another✨️

This week will be your final opportunity to see Inishowen Maritime Museum as it has been for the past 25 years. We will close our doors to the public on Saturday 12th of September and it will be all hands on deck to complete the final and biggest phases of our redevelopment project.

We will reopen in 2027 and hope to see all of you then.

In the meantime to show our appreciation to you all, we've decided to remain open until 9pm every night this week and offer half price entry to allow everyone the chance to get a last look at the museum as it is and reminisce.

Past Board members and anyone who has contributed in any way in making Inishowen Maritime Museum the outstanding facility that it is today are welcome to visit all week free of charge!

📍And, if any of you lovely people have some free time and are handy with a paint brush or would like to show off your physical strength we would be happy to offer you the opportunity to be part of this exciting time in the history of Inishowen Maritime Museum. Tea and biscuits will be provided 😊.

Founder 𝐏𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 grew up in one of the traditional cottages that still stands in the village today. His family's story is part of the experience — and a photograph of Pat's parents still hangs on the wall inside the cottage where he grew up.

𝐀 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, where history comes alive through stories, memories and a few things you can see, taste and experience for yourself.

And then you're left to explore.

𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 — from ancient rock art and traditional rural life to the Great Famine, Irish wakes, poitín and stories that reach right into modern Ireland.

You could easily spend hours wandering through and still find something you missed the first time.

And it is still very much a family place today. Pat's sister Majella welcomes visitors in the gift shop, while Pat continues to share the stories of the place they once called home.
