The Community Innovation Fund for Leixlip and Celbridge groups and the Residents’ Association Project Grant Schemes open this morning.

COMMUNITY & INNOVATION FUND — NOW OPEN 🌱
Today I’m delighted to announce that the Community & Innovation Fund 2026, a funding scheme I established and brought forward with the support of Municipal District councillors, is now open for applications.
This fund is about backing local ideas that make a real difference — whether that’s strengthening community connections, piloting innovative projects, or supporting initiatives that respond creatively to local needs.
✅ Designed at local level
✅ Supported across the MD
✅ Focused on action, impact and community benefit
If you are part of a community group, voluntary organisation, or local initiative with a strong idea that could benefit from support, I encourage you to apply.

Kildare County Council have announced they are progressing the Leixlip Pool site. Delighted to hear this, we should see progress by Spring 2027. Feasibility Study and Planning to come. Delighted that the Pop Up Pool delivered stats that drove the case for the Pool. Can't wait to take a swim IN Leixlip :-)

Site is identified, feasibility study and plannning process to commence.
We will need to mobilise locally to ensure the Government provides funding when needed.

If you volunteer with a Tidy Towns group, this is a good opportunity to get solid guidance for the year ahead.

Tidy Towns Information Evening
Wednesday 11 February
6.30pm to 8.30pm
Council Chamber, Áras Chill Dara, Naas

The focus is practical and useful.
• What adjudicators look for in 2026
• How local groups can improve water quality in their area
• How community energy projects can support Tidy Towns work

Speakers include a national Tidy Towns adjudicator, LAWPRO, and SEAI.

This session is open to all Tidy Towns groups across Kildare, whether you are long established or just getting started.

A grant of up to €1,500 is available for projects and activities in Kildare involving:
