*🔥*DANGER*🔥*
WE ARE STILL SEEING TOO MANY OVER LOADED EXTENSION LEADS

Be aware of the fire risk that overloaded or damaged power cords pose.

FACT: Extension cords are only intended for temporary use. Consider having a qualified electrician add more circuits or outlets so you do not have to use extension cords.

**Replace damaged or loose electrical cords as they can increase the risk of electrical shock or cause arcing or overheating, which can lead to a fire.

**Do not use an extension cord with major appliances.

**Do not run extension cords under carpets.

🚒🔥Mayo County Fire and Rescue Service 🔥🚒recommend that every Tuesday we all take the time to test our own smoke alarms. Use to check smoke alarms of family and friends as well.
Working smoke alarms save lives. There are many examples where lives were lost as a smoke alarm was installed but not working.

Why is Smoke so Dangerous?.......Why do we need to avoid Smoke?

When man made materials burn, they release thousands of toxic chemicals including:
• Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons
• Hydrogen Cyanide
• Nitric Oxide
• Formaldehyde
• Cadmium
• Chloroform
• Trichloroethylene
• Arsenic
During a fire the human body cannot deal with these toxins and our breathing and visibility will be severely effected
***Always stay well clear of the smoke***
