How can digital tools make public consultation easier for citizens?
In Letterkenny, Donegal County Council used an online voting platform to help residents have their say on the future of Market Square.

The platform allowed people to view six shortlisted design concepts, compare the options and vote for their preferred proposal at a time that suited them.

The result: 3,295 votes were cast, showing how simple and accessible digital tools can support stronger civic engagement and more transparent local decision-making.

โœ… Through , partnered with Donegal County Museum to launch five AI-supported 360ยฐ virtual tours, bringing remote heritage sites like Arranmore Island directly to visitors.

Donegalโ€™s most famous landmarks are often geographically isolated or hard to navigate for those with reduced mobility, while popular temporary exhibitions were difficult to preserve long-term.

๐Ÿค Accessible via headsets, mobile, and web, these interactive experiences allow visitors to explore local history regardless of physical or travel barriers, while upskilling museum staff in cutting-edge digital tools.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Caroline Carr, Donegal County Museum: โ€œThese virtual assets are significant because many heritage sites are located in remote parts of our large county... It supports our audience development by effectively engaging younger visitors.โ€
