Members of Donegal Fire Service, An Garda Síochána Donegal & The RNLI pictured launching this years Amber Thursday campaign, which takes place today, May 28th.

Amber Thursday is a joint initiative to promote fire, road and water safety awareness and to highlight the various risks associated with fire, road and water-based activities over the summer season.
With more people using waterways and partaking in garden and other outdoor activities such as barbecues, in addition to the anticipated increase in people using the roads, the June bank holiday weekend can be a busy time for emergency and rescue services who are called to deal with incidents relating to fire, road or water activities.

We urge the public to be aware of the risks and dangers every time they use a road, go into the water and interact with anything flammable, and to take a minute to make sure what they are doing is safe and responsible.
